Daniela Romo Interviews David Olivarez and X/S

Wow, where do I begin with this one? First off a quick disclaimer: I did not write the featured song on this clip.
Now with that out of the way, this gem that I found recently in one of my old and busted VCR tapes. I almost threw it away several times but decided that one day I would make an effort to fix it.
Well thank God that day finally came and whoa, I did not expect to find this recording.
This is from our first ever visit to Mexico City where we appeared on "Hoy Con Daniela". Daniela Romo, besides being gorgeous was one of the most humble, approachable, most down to earth people I've ever met. Seriously, in spite of being an international superstar, she couldn't have been more friendly and cordial to us. Dave was awesome, so relaxed and poised while I on the other hand was crawling out of my skin. I was so nervous (and sweaty) that I could hardly speak. But Daniela, ever the sweetheart, took it in stride and did all she could to make us feel comfortable. She even spoke English to me when I got stuck trying to describe, in my best Spanish, how much of a hopeless romantic (dweeb) I was. Anyway, ever since that day, she became and still is one of my all-time favorite ladies...ever.
My favorite part of this video is the beginning when Daniela mentions how wonderful TEJANO music is because of our (Tejanos) love and passion for the Spanish language and the distinctive flavor and style that we add to traditional Mexican music. She accepts it, embraces it and genuinely wishes us well in our career.
Man how things have changed. I know that in some parts of Mexico, Tejano music is still loved and heard frequently. What a shame, IMO, that Mexico seemingly still embraces Tejano music whole-heartedly, while it appears that locally here in the states Tejano is all but forgotten. Some people, who shall remain nameless, (HLSR) believe that Tejano music is dead and has no place in today's music mainstream entertainment venues. Ha!
I sure would like to see Daniela Romo take these people behind a woodshed and teach them a thing or two about Tejano people, our music, and our culture.
Okay…off my soapbox but please feel free to comment with your thoughts.
