The Human Experience - Broken Open | The Pinecone Series - Episode 3

Fresh from a sold-out show the night before at Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz, this trio of projects came together on one song for what turned out to be an extremely unique collaborative Pinecone Series. The song, Broken Open, originally written and performed by The Human Experience (David Block) and Kat Factor was re-imagined on the spot, in The Pinecone, to include Kr3ture (Krikor Andonian) on saxophone and the driftr duo (Brian Capobianchi & Jamie Schnetzler) on acoustic and electric guitars.

David has performed all over the world under the name The Human Experience sharing the stage with renowned artists such as The Roots, Thievery Corporation, Bonobo, Tipper, Emancipator, The Polish Ambassador, and many more. Kat Factor is a classically trained songstress who, no matter what style of music she is performing, is entirely magnetic on stage. Currently, David and Kat Factor tour extensively together with their new band Gone Gone Beyond.

All that said, this day will forever go down in Pinecone Series History as the day we lost our very first drone to a head on collision with a giant pinecone. RIP Matt’s Drone...
