Gone Gone Beyond, the electro-folk “supergroup” assembled by producer David Block, a.k.a The Human Experience, just released their first full length album "Things Are Changing," March 29th across all platforms. Sitting somewhere between Massive Attack, Mumford and Sons, and James Blake, the band's sound has been described as "mesmerizing future folk" (Consequence of Sound) and is constantly pushing the boundaries of blending folk, soul, and world music.
The Human Experience, who boasts over 30 million streams, has teamed up with Cuban multi-instrumentalist Mel Seme (currently a finalist on Spain’s The Voice), raspy-voiced New York City songwriter Danny Musengo (Ludlow Thieves), and Santa Cruz vocal prodigy Kat Factor in a sound that brings haunting harmonies, tribal rhythms, and lush orchestration to the songwriting.
After triumphant main stage sets at Lightning In A Bottle and Envision Festival, as well as a collection of beautifully curated preview showcases at this year’s SXSW, the quartet are about to embark on a unique world tour called "The Lost Art of Listening." The experiential events will break boundaries and music industry norms by creating a conscious listening movement that connects the mind, body, and emotional spirit with sound. The group will be working with local nonprofits and educators in each city to drive home the positive impact music can have on the lives of listeners. Tour locations include Tulum, Austin, LA, SF, NYC, Ibiza, and London with a full list of dates becoming available in the upcoming weeks.
"Things Are Changing" sounds like a gospel record for the psychedelic set. A mainstream collection of songs from a genre that's been hugely popular yet somewhat relegated to the spiritual underground until now. Gone Gone Beyond manages to break your heart, change your mind, and save your soul all in one album. Stand out singles include the uplifting title track, which the group performed as part of the U.N. General Assembly last fall, the sing-along folk duet, “You Can’t Go Wrong,” and the anthem for the underdog "It All Comes Down to Us.”
