The Quest for Giant Migratory Striped Bass

Cody and I venture out on the water to chase huge migratory winter Rockfish in the Chesapeake Bay. Our first winter adventure fishing for these remarkable critters is filled with ups and downs, but is an experience we wouldn't trade for the world. Enjoy!

Time: Whenever the wind allowed
Location: Middle Chesapeake Bay
Air Temp: 40 - 60 degrees F
Water Temp: 44 degrees F
Wind: 0 - 15 mph
Gear: 7' or 6'6" Medium/Heavy casting and spinning gear for jigging
Tackle: 1, 1.5 oz jigs with 7" and 10" straight tail swimbaits for jigging (contrasting colors was key [whites, pinks, chartreuse])
