Hulimenasina kodilu | ಹುಳಿ ಮೆಣಸಿನ ಕೊದಿಲು | Ivy gourd curry recipe | Thondekkayi hulimenasina kodilu

This is a curry called as "Huli menasina kodilu" especially prepared by using ivygourd/Mangalore cucumber or mixing both of them. It is a famous curry at coastal areas, which is a best combination with rice. This is very special because, we prepare this by crushing ivygourd as a whole and without frying any masala. Some people add enough coconut oil while boiling the curry, which enhances it's taste, but some serve this curry with coconut oil. This curry doesn't require any dal to be added. Even it attracts by it's wonderful color too.

Ingredients:

Ivy gourd 10-15
Salt to taste
Jaggery small piece
Grated coconut 1cup
Byadgi chilli's 3
Tamarind a small piece
Turmeric powder 1/2 spoon
Water

For tempering

Coconut oil 1sp
Mustard seed 1sp
Dry red chilli's 2-3 piece
Curry leaves
