Best Classes in WotLK

Let’s jump right into the DPS rankings BY TIER.

So in Naxxramas the first raid in WotLK also known as Tier 7 and provides sets very similar to vanilla wow’s tier 3 which was also naxxramas.

In this tier Warlocks, Rogues, Death Knights, and Mages are at the top.
Rogues received a powerful new AOE ability called FAN OF KNIVES which
Early on in WotLK gear did not have a lot of ARMOR PENETRATION and that is very useful for other specializations like fury, combat, and so on.. but assassination rogues were their main DPS comes from poison, they do not need armor penetration.

They also play differently than other specs and are unique for that reason.
When there’s no warrior or druid in your party/raid to apply a bleed effect to your target then you have to use Garrote and Rupture first in order to apply Hunger For Blood (which increases damage by 5% works only with bleed effect).

Assassination Rogues use mutilate to generate combo points and then use Envenom the finishing move which instantly applies poison damage, and does quite a lot of damage. Of course, this is nature damage and this goes through armor which is why assassination rogues DO NOT need armor penetration making them excellent in early on WotLK where that stat is scarce.

Frost Death Knights are similar with abilities like
This is a powerful AOE ability that sets them apart from unholy death knights who don’t have as powerful AOE. Notice this ability does FROST DAMAGE which again helps the class bypass armor.

Another similar ability that sets frost ahead of other melee DPS is frost strike, dealing FROST DAMAGE which again during a time with little armor penetration shines for the melee damager dealer.
