Running Oaklands parkrun - With Me Now Pow Wow. parkrun tourism. Podcast listener meet up!

It's been several years since our last parkrun With Me Now podcast listener meet up due to the pandemic. We were so excited to be able to set a date at a relatively central location (Oaklands parkrun in Birmingham) to spend the morning parkrunning and parkfaffing with our lovely podcast listeners.

The morning was absolutely incredible and to top it all off I got a letter O to complete my Name Badge on the Running Challenges website! The highlights were being given a beautiful 'forgetful moth' cloak (podcast reference... check out the With Me Now back catalogue for context!), seeing so many happy, smiling faces in podcast merch enjoying each others company as they ran, walked or jogged around Oaklands parkrun and perhaps my favourite bit of all... the magical corridor of cheers as you ran into the finish. Runners who had finished their parkrun all came down to the finish straight to create the most wonderful atmosphere as you ran to the line.

The parkrun volunteer team were amazing and did a brilliant job of hosting us as we swelled their numbers massively so I'd like to say a great big thank you to them. I'm already looking forward to next year's parkrun With Me Now Pow Wow!
