Hello, this is Doug with Air Purification Education and today I'm going to review the Austin Air Healthmate air purifier. I have been a Professional Air Purification Consultant for over 15 years and I have experience with over 100 different Air purification solutions.
here is a quick summary of my personal and professional experience with the Austin Air healthmate air purifier - I have a lot of first-hand experience with this unit. I have sold a couple thousand of these units over the past 15 years to hundreds of different customers all over the US. I sold the Austin Air Healthmate units to many Residential customers with homes and apartments, Business Office Environments and I also sold a ton of them to School classrooms, as well, a lot of different environments. So, I have a decent understanding of how effective this unit is for different applications - like Dust, allergies, Asthma, Smoke, chemical sensitivities, etc. Also, I actually own 2 of the Austin Air healthmate units in my own home - and I have had them for over 15 years - I run them 24 hours a day so these units literally have over 131,000 hours of runtime on them... here's the math 24 x 365 = 8760 hrs. x 15 years = 131,400 TOTAL HOURS of RUNTIME. Should you buy the Austin Air Healthmate?

I bought my 1st Austin air healthmate for my bedroom because I was gagging on the dust that was coming from our vents when we turned on the heat. This was waking me up at @3am in the morning and I had to go downstairs to get water for relief and it took me about 45 minutes to get back to sleep... after a couple of nights of this - I decided to look into an air purification solution - I had been in the air quality industry for about 1 year at this point in time so I knew Austin and IQAir were 2 of the best solutions on the market - And Even though I knew IQAir was supposed to filter better - I chose Austin because the filters lasted for 5 years and I felt like I'd save money on the cost of ownership. Also, The Healthmate was about $550 at that point in time and the IQAir HPP was about $900 so there was a pretty large difference in the initial investment for the actual units. The 1st night I ran the Austin in my bedroom it completely fixed my gagging and coughing problem and I didn't have that issue again for the past 16 or so years, so yeah - the health mate was a complete game changer for me for sleeping and I'd never even dream of not having it run when I sleep.


Where MANUFACTURED: In the USA in Buffalo, NY. - most of the parts come from the US - some components are manufactured in Canada. the cord does not come from the US - the manufacturer said the cords are 7 to 10 times more expensive to get in the US. Plus, they have multiple different motor suppliers that they deal with some in the US, Mexico and Asian countries. The carbon and steel always come from a US Supplier.
