✅ VIDEO SUMMARY
To find all of the different shape tools in After Effects; Rectangle Tool, Rounded Rectangle Tool, Ellipse Tool, Polygon Tool, Star Tool. The shortcut to any of these tools is Q (for both Windows and Mac). You can then simply draw your shape by holding and dragging your left mouse button. At the top of After Effects, there will be two parameters you can change to style your shape; Fill and Stroke. The fill is the "inside" color of your shape, whereas, the stroke is the border or outline of your shape. You can also adjust the Stroke Width here.

To find more properties you can change for your shape, simply open the "Contents" option in the layers panel for the shape layer you have created. You can also draw multiple shapes in one layer. Finally, if you want to create a custom shape, simply select the Pen Tool (G) and create several connected points on your canvas. You can hold and drag your left mouse button to create curved edges. To complete the shape, simply press on the first point you created!
