Selena Gomez Family: 2 Half-Sisters, A Step-Brother and Grandparents

Always bright and extraordinary Selena Gomez had to go through a lot to achieve the success she can boast of today. Her talent to acting and singing could be noticed from a young age and so at the age of 10 she debuted in a TV show Barney and Friends. Just within a year she played a bit role in Spy Kids 3: Game Over. After that she started appearing on a big screen more and more often acting in Hannah Montana, Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire and many other works. However, what made Gomez worldwide famous and an idol for millions of kids and teens is a participation in a sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place. Alongside acting, an artist started pursuing singing career too.

Selena’s mother, Amanda gave birth to Selena at 16. Her union with Ricardo lasted 5 years after which they walked separate ways. That’s when a hard life of a single parent began. Amanda had to do several jobs to make a living, providing food and education. In 2006 she remarried a man named Brian Teefey and they produced a child together. The singer is ever grateful to her mom for being always supportive and caring. She even worked as Selena’s manager until she rose to worldwide fame and needed more professional staff.

The family also includes maternal grandparents Davis and Debbie. They are very close with the famous granddaughter.

Ricardo and Mazy are paternal grandparents. It would be interesting to know that Selena spent several years living with them as parents were finishing school. So, they share a very tight bond with a pop star.

As for the father, his name is Ricardo and there are many different opinions as for the family’s life after the separation. Some sources claim that Ricardo has never been present in daughter’s life, whereas others provide pictures of them spending time together.

Brian Teefey is celebrity’s stepdad, who appeared in a family life when a future starlet was 14. According to the singer, she loves Brian a lot and is thankful to him for everything he did for her and mom.

The TV star has a half-sister Gracie born to Mandy and Brian in 2013. Gomez always wanted to be an elder sister. So, when she got to know about mom’s pregnancy, she was very happy.

From the father’s second marriage to Sara, there is also a half-sister named Victoria, who was born in 2014. Even though Selena had a lack of father, she was over the moon to have one more half-sister.

Marcus is Selena step-brother who was born to Sara before she married Ricardo.
