Salix Cricket - ACID Nitric Bomb Profile Shaping And Finishing

Salix Cricket are a cricket bat manufacturing company renowned for producing some of the highest quality finished cricket bats in the industry. Master batmaker Andrew Kember, Kel and co. manufacture their bats in Maidstone, Kent. Andrew himself has been making cricket bats for almost 40 years.

Here, we see Andrew and Kel crafting an ACID Nitric Bomb profiled cricket bat from the handled, pressed and machined stage. Andrew talks us through the process, and gives some insight into batmaking - in particular the handcrafting and finishing part of the process for the ACID Nitric Bomb range, as well as some of the thoughts behind the ACID brand.

From March until May, Salix are open for bat fittings on Wednesdays between 9am and 5pm (Appointment basis ONLY) AND 9am and 3pm on Saturdays for walk in bat fittings. (First come first serve basis) This is a service where the experts will take you through picking out the perfect bat for you from stock, or determine if you will need a bespoke bat experience. They also have a showroom, which has plenty of soft goods in stock/on display, so if you like what you see and need a bat for the season, I personally do recommend a visit!
