Splendid WALKING Trail in Rome, New York.

Stopping at Rome Health, checking-out progress of the new surgical unit. Should of had these contractors, remodel city hall, which is taking an eternity to complete. Wonder if Governor Hochul, will return for a grand opening...if she's still the governor.
Raspberries Restaurant, was originally...Friendly's. And currently have a spectacular breakfast/lunch menu. Another alma mater of mine. Life of Friendly's was cut short, when a limited liability company, bought many of the franchise restaurants. Anything for a profit.
Moving-on to the Mohawk River Trail. A nice neutral name. I think it should be titled the Patriots trail, or The People's Trail.
Many parts of the trail, have great fishing/camping sites. Just keep-it-clean. Those that fish, are the biggest slobs. They leave everything behind. Must be cups, fishing line, and tackle boxes, are too heavy to carry-out. If ya cannot respect nature, stay-out! Stay home.
Have noticed some homeless/transient camps. Have not noticed any sign of trash. The City's Parks Department, does a great job. I don't care if ya live in the woods, for whatever reason, just keep-it neat. No trash can nearby? Then I say just throw-it on a campfire. But don't leave the unsightly trash.
Check-out the classic fire engine, behind the Rome Fire Department. That's where the Mohawk River Trail, begins & ends, depending where ya start.
If you want a epic trail day, you can continue onto Griffiss Airport, via Chestnut street or Floyd Avenue. A Sculpture Trail, awaits you, and you can get to Rome Free Academy school, and Orgill hardware warehouse, or the Dollar Tree warehouse, and Air Force Laboratory, using the trail network.
