Whilst on passage between #birkenhead near #liverpool in #england and #belfast #NorthernIreland we encountered #stormdebi in the #irishsea

This nasty deepening stormfront brought storm force winds of 80mph (beaufort storm force 11) with gusts considerably higher (force 12 is a hurricane).

The waves in the Irish Sea were truly mountainous with deep troughs and white crests blowing into spindrift in the high winds.

It should be stated the Stena Line ferry I was aboard (Stena Edda) departed on time and arrived on time despite the weather conditions plus, to make the journey as comfortable as possible, the ship sailed towards Dublin then headed north up the east coast of Ireland where the swell was not as high.
