Oil in your Harvest Right Freeze Dryer? SOLVED! JB Industries Eliminator Pump valve issue.

Описание к видео Oil in your Harvest Right Freeze Dryer? SOLVED! JB Industries Eliminator Pump valve issue.

This video is for anyone out there who has run into an issue with oil sucking into their Harvest Right Freeze Dryer, or into the vacuum line between the Harvest Right and the JB Industries pump supplied with the freeze dryer.

The issue I ran into was erratic and hard to nail down as to the cause. It turned out to be an issue with the Teflon (or Nylon) ball in the pump made by JB Industries that was supplied with my unit. The pump model is DV-6E which is the standard model supplied with Harvest Right Freeze Dryers.

I need to say - once again in text - this is an issue I found with my pump and is not an issue with my actual Harvest Right Freeze Dryer. The pump manufacturer, JB Industries is sending replacement parts and I have also ordered Nylon balls (really grade 1 bearings with much better tolerances) through E-bay as well.

After cleaning up the nasty looking Teflon ball and re-installing it, I tested the system down to 400mTorr and switched the pump on and off. It looks like the check valve is not leaking now, but I will still replace the parts noted in the video.

Also, since filming this video and after discussion with several valve manufactures I will be trying out a rotary ball valve rather than a solenoid mentioned... A video update will follow.
