Oil-Less, Maintenance-Free Pump for Harvest Right Freeze Dryers - The Eagle

The Oilless, Maintenance-Free Vacuum Pump for Harvest Right Freeze Dryers is here! It's faster and quieter than the two oil-based pumps we also tested (JB 6cfm Pump, and the new Harvest Right 7.2cfm Pump).

In this video, we discuss the price and measure the noise level and frequency content of the sound of the new oil-less pump. We also measure how long it takes to process a batch of food with the new oil-less pump and compare it to both the new 7.2cfm pump (shipped with all Harvest Right freeze dryers starting in late November 2017) as well as the older 6cfm from JB Industries.

This new oil-free pump is expensive but, like all scroll-type pumps, the machine work must be very precise to operate at such extreme vacuum levels. To learn more about how a scroll type pump works, there is an excellent video here:    • Scroll Compressor  

As of December 13, 2017, the Oil-Less "Eagle" pump is available as an upgrade when purchasing a new freeze dryer on our web site, and will be available as a stand-alone item in January 2018 for existing Harvest Right owners. For existing freeze dry owners who are interested, you can send us an email or call us to be placed on the waiting list for the January 2018 release.
