During this OA Community Meetup Harvard Business School’s Marvin Bower Associate Professor, Chris Stanton taught his new case study on UST’s Adoption of Open Talent.

The study explores the inception and growth of UST’s Open Talent initiative in 2020. This initiative sought to incorporate freelance talent from various digital platforms into its existing workforce. It sheds light on the challenges and opportunities presented by the changing landscape post-pandemic, such as workforce reductions, rising wages, and shifting office return policies, and their impact on organizational evolution. The case leaves readers contemplating the future direction UST’s leadership should take with the program.

Christopher Stanton is Marvin Bower Associate Professor of Business Administration in the Entrepreneurial Management Unit. Professor Stanton’s research streams focus on personnel economics, organizational economics, labor markets, and entrepreneurship. His MBA elective, Managing the Future of Work, explores the challenges and opportunities surrounding artificial intelligence, robotics, digital labor markets, and training for the modern workforce. He earned a Ph.D. in business administration from Stanford University and B.A. and M.A. degrees from Emory University.
