Jewel Cichlid Care & Tank Setup

Описание к видео Jewel Cichlid Care & Tank Setup

Jewel cichlids are awesome fish. Taking care of them is super easy.

This may or may not be a sensitive topic, so please be nice to each other... I wanted to know, what are opinions on using carbon in filters? Why do you use it or why don't you? Try to persuade me. I'm new to the hobby and don't know my stance yet. Works great, usually takes a lot of rinsing, doesn't last very long-maybe 4 weeks. Look at Purigen, good stuff. I've never used them. Was told they don't last long, are messy, and overall don't do much. So I just fill up the space with something else instead.    • Jewel Cichlid Tank Care - Species Pro...

Purigen much better than carbon. Carbon last two to four weeks then replace.
Purigen last four to six months rinse off with a bleach solution and put it back in your filter.

Is anyone interested in buying some pothos? This thing grows like crazy in my yard, so I decided to make some cuttings for those that need an easy to care plant that will get rid of those nasty nitrates. I got a ton and they need a new home.

I'll be selling them for $5 per cutting. Each cutting will have 1-2 leaves. Shipping is either $3 for first class (slowest) and $7 for priority.
If you need cold packs let me know. They've been adapted to water so most of the hard work is done.

A brand new large plant (enough to make a few dozen cuttings) cost $3 - 7 at any Lowe's, Walmart, Mernard's, etc. Just tossing it out there in case you want to lower the prices to get some sales. It's one of the cheapest plants for a large house plant. Lots of varieties. I like the Marble Queen or even the Golden. Such fun plants.

My mom was like "he's not doing so good" and literally made me take him out of his tank. He literally just ate to much like calm down mother instinct

EDIT: I absolutely do not want any "Advice" or "Tips". I am very experienced in betta keeping and know each of my bettas extremely well. This post is purely for enjoyment and laughs. Any comments from the "Fish Police" will be ignored!Thank you. So experience ......question...seriously...I read the air bladder thing, when they float upside down or sideways, is cause the food has not been in the water soaking long enough. Educate me please....is that true ?

Their swim bladder is what allows them to stay floating in the water, they float upside down or on their side when their swim bladder has too much air inside. It can be caused by them accidentally hurting their swim bladder or caused by constipation. Although in Catastrophic's case he just ate too many blood worms and was feeling sorry for himself.

Question, how do you feed your other fish without your girls overeating? I threw blood worms in my tank yesterday and all three of my bettas ate most of them and were flippin huuge for a bit. My females are pretty good! I never have a problem, if you are having a hard time I would just feed on both sides of the tank, the best way is to dethaw the blood worms in a glass with warm water and distribute them.

What's the best way to treat ich! ??
I raised the temp and using methanol blue
Lost my breeding Bristlenose female, 3 cardinal tetra and my super fav red lace guppy pair!
I just don't understand why in this tweet me of the year my condo is mostly 78-82. Little DIY siphon I made for my nano tanks. Regular siphons suck too much water too fast and this one gives me time to clean everything. And no water in the mouth from self starting. Which is another reason i made it.

Mine may just be a**holes but they are the pickiest eaters I have come across. They won't eat pellet or flake sinking or floating as they don't like to feed at the surface and they like food that sinks fairly slowly as they aren't the fastest at moving to get their food.

Mine have a diet of lance fish and prawn which needs to be fed to the slowly as they also don't like to pick food up off the bottom. Blood worm can bloat them so it's not the ideal thing to feed them.

They are quite shy fish but not the best of swimmers so when startled be ready for them either to bump into everything as they try to hide or for them jumping and boy can they jump! As a treat mine love seaweed and if you have trouble with them eating try garlic in with their food, they seem to love it.
Lots of caves and hiding places and plenty of interaction as they are really friendly once they get to know you.
