Описание к видео "What is Biofloc fish farming Technology?"🐟

Biofloc fish farming is an innovative fish farming technology, invented in Vietnam and further developed in Israel and Thailand. This technology is environmentally friendly and enables us to grow more fish in a small area, with minimal feed cost as compared to traditional fish ponds, which require a huge amount of land, water, and maintenance costs. The Biofloc system helps us to grow more fish without significantly increasing the basic natural resources, i.e., land and water because Biofloc fish farming is done in a tank with minimal or zero water exchange. The land used in the Biofloc system is also much smaller compared to traditional fish ponds. 1000 kg fish production in traditional fish ponds requires 1 acre of land; whereas the same amount of fish can be produced in 1 Marla land in a Biofloc system.
The use of Biofloc technology can help in sustaining natural resources, preventing their depletion, and allowing us to grow more food for the increasing world population. It is estimated that the aquaculture industry could potentially grow five times by 2050 to meet the rising food demand, as suggested by a survey.
Secondly, the Biofloc system has great commercial potential compared to traditional fish farming. This system provides a reasonable cost/benefit ratio in fish farming, as the water containing nutrients and organic matter in the Biofloc tank is being recycled through microbial communities known as flocs. These flocs convert the organic matter excreted by the fish back into protein through the nitrification process. The protein flocs are then consumed by the fish, which lowers the feed expenses. In traditional fish ponds, about 36% of fish feed is wasted due to the fish's small gut length compared to mammals, which prevents them from digesting the maximum amount of feed consumed. This system improves the feed conversion ratio, resulting in more profits for the farmers. Additionally, Biofloc systems also help prevent major disease outbreaks in fish and reduce the fish mortality rate.
Lastly, Biofloc systems are also environmentally friendly because of minimum or zero water release to land and rivers. This prevents the spread of harmful pollutants to the environment, which can affect marine life and agriculture. It also ensures biosecurity and prevents water scarcity by recycling water and minimizing its use in fish farms. I hope you find this research-based video useful and interesting.
