After reading up, I realized that I'm supposed to get a key from inside the tank to make a shell for the tank. Glad that we're making progress, but I'm not sure if we need to get the pin from the grenade though

Plot so far:
Tasi Triannon survived a plane crash. Alone in a desert, pregnant and ill, she is trying to reach the survivors of her expedition, who are in a town a few hours' walk away. In order to get past the large gate, I need to create a shell for the tank, and have it blasted open. I've got most of the ingredients to make the shell, but do I need the safety pin from the grenade?
