Selingan Turtle Island in Malaysia is a tiny island next to the Philippines and runs a turtle conservation project, educating and creating awareness. It was always on our Malaysia bucket list and we were really thrilled be able to visit this beautiful island.

Every night there are many turtles that come on Selingan Turtle Island to lay their eggs and as such there are thousands of baby turtles hatching every season. We were fortunate to have been there to see a nesting and a batch of baby turtles being released into their natural habitat.

You can stay on the island overnight and it is located around 50 minutes speed boat from Sandakan in Sabah, Borneo. We would highly suggest everyone to add this beautiful Selingan Turtle Island in Malaysia to your bucket list.
