BENTO INFO 🍗
Chicken Bento / チキン弁当
https://foods.jr-cross.co.jp/matsuri/...

This deceivingly simple bento box is one of Tokyo Station's longest sellers and has been in a firm favourite since Showa Era 39 (1964!). The juicy chicken karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken) and tomato rice make this bento popular among both kids and adults and anyone would be happy to eat this on a Shinkansen (bullet train) ride!

🍱 What is "Ekiben"?
Ekiben - the delicious love child of “eki” (the Japanese for “train station”) and “bento” (Japanese lunchboxes) filled with local delicacies - are a unique part of Japanese culture that were originally created to be enjoyed by Japanese salarymen on long business trip train journeys, but these days these delicious lunch boxes are a staple in Japan life and have such a fan following that people travel around the country solely for the purpose of trying the local bento!

The most exciting part of “ekiben” is that you can try different flavours of local cuisine from different prefectures without even leaving the station! You’ll find various ekiben at any train station around Japan, and if you take a Shinkansen bullet train in Japan, you can’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a high speed ekiben lunch, but you don’t even need to take a train to enjoy them (in fact, you can also bring them home, just like we did)!

📍 Where to buy
You can pick one of these bentos up for ¥900 ($6):
