How to Hold Your Ukulele (Beginner Video)

I realize that my nervous word is "kinda."

This one is for the absolute beginner, brand new to ukulele. It will help to set up a proper foundation for your playing, so that you'll have an easier time as you progress.

This is actually a question that we don't necessarily get often, but the problems that a LOT of ukulele players have down the line (i.e. trouble chord switching, holding bar chords, moving between strumming and fingerpicking, etc.) all stem from not having the proper form initially when holding your ukulele.

Of course, every person is a little different, so experiment with what feels comfortable to you to be able to hold your ukulele naturally. But the principles outlined here should allow you to hold your ukulele pretty effortlessly, no strap required.
