11 year followup keratoconus treated with Athens Protocol CXL: Kanellopoulos, MD

Описание к видео 11 year followup keratoconus treated with Athens Protocol CXL: Kanellopoulos, MD

Follow the journey of evaluating the current cornea diagnostics in a patient now in his mid-20s who underwent cornea cross-linking with the Athens protocol for advanced keratoconus 11 years ago-as a teenager at the time-in his right eye. The data will show a dramatic flattening of the cornea: over 15 diopters, certain stabilization of the ectasia process and a refractive overcorrection! BY evaluating the diagnostics we will be able to plan securely a hyperopic-astigmatic PRK in order to further improve visual rehabilitation.
Imaging of the left die shows stable keratoconus, over these last 11 years- probbaly from stopping to rub! but with our prediction of the future may become visually disturbing even if it remains stable. Of interest tge discrepancy between pentacam and OCT thickness maps after CXL withvtge later being the accurate, and the further importance of tge Optovue Avanti maps in epithelial remodeling and visualization of the depth and width of the CXL line within the treated right cornea.
