AthensProtocol CXL for Keratoconus overcorrection: what to avoid! Kanellopoulos MD

Описание к видео AthensProtocol CXL for Keratoconus overcorrection: what to avoid! Kanellopoulos MD

Were using an example of a young lady we evaluated today from Cyprus that was treated several years ago with PRK combined with cross-linking. She was a -7 motor and obviously had keratoconus the numbers show today extreme cornea thinning severe cornea flattening underlining the fact that she was over corrected. We’re discussing the fact that within the Athens protocol-as we have described it-and as it has become a Premier global choice for treating Keratoconus only a part of the refraction is used in a topographic guided PRK combined with higher fluence CXL. So expect significant synergy between the two and although the PRK may be just a few doctors and we may expect a few doctors correction from the CXL the end result could be 10, 15 even 20 doctors of flattening as we can elegantly see in the second case discussed at 1 week postop in our center in Athens!
