A Food Tour in Little Italy - San Diego

While in downtown San Diego, we took advantage of one of the most highly rated food tours in the United States. Little Italy is a small immigrant enclave in the heart of San Diego that has gone from home to fishermen, canneries and Italian immigrants to a robust cultural festival of food, history and entertainment without losing its roots. In fact, it is its history and reliance on the hard work of those who came before that has made it such a successful revitalization project. We visited 4 restaurants and tried 10 different dishes during our tour. Our guide, Anthony, told stories, shared recipes, and introduced us to the people behind the restaurants that made this meal so special.
