This song is more utilitarian than anything else, since I made it for the sole purpose of being a stage theme. I grabbed together some of the patterns I noticed most in Touhou stages, like clearly defined segments that correlate to enemy waves and a "break" section in the middle when the midboss appears. Though now that I think about it, those are patterns that appear in most music, so maybe I'm trying to overexplain my thought process. -_-;

I love when gameplay and sound effects are timed to the music, so I wanted to do the same with the shots that enemies fired. So because I wanted to synchronize the stage, I needed to make the music first. Now what I haven't mentioned is that the theme for the contest was "Unconventional Minimalism", meaning that it would be scored for only bullet pattern design and not assets... Which means I spent 3 days making a song I didn't need to, instead of actually working on the script and fixing bugs.
