The Best and Worst day of My Life.

Описание к видео The Best and Worst day of My Life.

This day was both the best and worst day of my life. Woke up to 1.5 feet of fluffy powder which we shred in the first 9 min of this vid. After that the power went out on the entire mountain (lifts stopped and mountain eventually closed after using the backup generator to get us off the lifts) After finally getting off the lift we decided to build a road gap jump and a jump for flips. We built the road gap jump and it was very sweet. After we all landed that we went and built a Jump to session tricks on. On that jump I finally landed my first backie and we all got flips around. On one of my backflip attempts, I broke my glasses. Around 30 min after we finished the jump session the power came back and the lifts started running again. We went up the lift and decided to do the road gap one more time before going to lunch. I went first and because of a factor of things I ran into a tree next to the takeoff. The things that I think made this happen were that:
1. I broke my glasses so my eyesight was very bad
2. The run in was tracked out and much more rough than before.
3. I had more speed this time and was basically blind from no glasses and goggle fog
4. I also was tired from everything previous ( all the powder and hiking and building both jumps)
5. I had only eaten granola bars and that was the last run before lunch
From what my friends explain, I was heading toward the takeoff and around 10 feet before the takeoff, I hit a bump or mogul and it turned me to the right. As I try to correct myself back to the take off, it is too late and my lower half of my body slams into a tree. I spun horizontally in the air from the momentum and landed in the pile of small trees that you jump over for the road gap.
The damage:
1. Pelvis Broken in 3 places
2. Destroyed and tore all the muscle in both of my thighs.
3. Pissed blood for a while
Learned later:
2 displaced kidneys
Diaphragm not working properly

I will not be walking for 10-12 weeks and I Could barely move for these past 2 weeks. (this footage is from 2 weeks ago)

Luckily I am friends with someone who is on patrol (he's in the video). He's a medical professional and was there for the crash and immediately called in a toboggan and ambulance. He also did all the things patrollers do in a bad crash and got me in the toboggan. I can't thank him, the patrollers, the EMT's, and my friends enough for their help.
