Salty Dog Blues - The Morris Brothers

Описание к видео Salty Dog Blues - The Morris Brothers

This early 1900s folk song with African-American roots was being sung in barrel houses till one of its arrangements got recorded by the Morris Brothers’ in 1938 which later became a bluegrass standard. According to blues language, “salty dog” is either a hot dog on a stick, a drink or a love interest.
The meaning I like most comes from an old practice of rubbing salt into the coat of one’s dog as a flea repellent, therefore referring to one’s best friend! Here I play the bluegrass standard with my salty dawgs from Kolkata,India 💛

Guitar - Atandra Chakraborty
Fiddle - Rajarshi Das
