Here, Lael Stone tells a wonderful story about her two daughters, and how her oldest daughter shared in a moment of intentional co-regulation with her youngest. The story perfectly illustrates the importance of showing up with emotional intelligence to receive our children where they are.

These big emotions are legitimate for our children, and, if given a proper response, our interactions with them can allow them to feel firm with self-awareness and help them to build capabilities in empathy and compassion. These interactions and conversations we have today are instrumental in building these foundational skills for life.
