Hello Friends! Welcome back to another beautiful very hot day in the garden! HoA has gone to get his staples from his knee replacement removed, so Im shooting solo again! Im playing with a couple of new color combinations, and Im still mildly obsessed with negative space. Lets get started!

There is NO Silicone
in Any of My Paint.

Im very excited about using the Obsidian and Stainless Steel together! I think the Maroon and Venetian Rose are going to work together beautifully, lots of contrast there.

Im using a 12x24 inch gallery wrapped canvas from Artist Loft.
Im also testing out a new product I found at Blick Art Supply.. Liquitex Metallic Gold Medium.
I have added some to both the Maroon and my White. All my paints are mixed with Mix Pour. You can order Mix Pour by emailing Krista at [email protected]

I layer my cup with contrast, Light Dark Light Dark.. I do notice that the Obsidian is slightly thinner than the other paints.

After I pour the cup in a wandering straight pour across the canvas I stop and study the pour. It seems a bit murky to me.. so I decide to tilt off some paint and then pour a new cup, but only half as much paint. I think the Obsidian and the Stainless Steel are too close to each other to be able to differentiate them in the pour, so in the new cup I leave out the Stainless Steel and use only the Obsidian, to create more contrast.
I do want to leave negative space on the canvas so I am very careful with what I tilt off.

I pour the second cup and stretch that out. I am much happier with the contrast in the second pour. I tilt it out and take off extra paint.. and then I decide that there is a section that could use some embellishment, so I grab a marble and very intentionally do 3 large marble swirls. I love how it looks! I would love to know what you all think, please let me know if the marble was a mistake or a great idea!
