The Making of Warhammer | Sixth Edition: Replenishing the Ranks

This is the fifth part in my continuing series tracking the making and evolution of Warhammer Fantasy Battles and we’ve just hit the 17th year and 6th edition of the game!

Warhammer 6th edition has gone down in history as one of the most well balanced and well supported core games that Games Workshop has ever released. An edition that sought to refocus the game away from the herohammer of 4th & 5th edition and towards big, strong units. Army composition, plastic miniatures manufacturing, magic systems, and more would all get completely overhauled. Maker of Mordheim Tuomas Pirinen was leading a top flight design team. And the legendary John Blanche would be back in the driving seat for the art and design of this beautiful vision of the Warhammer World.

This was intended to be the definitive version of the Warhammer game, but how could such an ambitious goal be realised?
