VINTAGE WARN/BELLVIEW ELECTRIC WINCH | Before the 8274

WELCOME BACK! I picked up this classic Bellview electric winch not too long ago from an online classified ad. I thought I was buying a classic and collectable Warn 8274, but I think I ended up with something even cooler. I believe this is an early WARN/Bellview electric winch. These were produced by a company called Bellview, but sold under the WARN brand. The top of the aluminum gear housing is stamped 5687.
This winch was attached to a large, and HEAVY, homemade steel bumper. At some point, someone had the bright idea to weld the heads of the bolts to the bumper. Making removal of the winch a little tricky. It really wasn't as difficult as I though it would be. I was able to easily remove 5 out of the 6 mounting bolts without much trickery. Only one bolt required some creative thinking and extraction techniques.
