This record provides an interesting contrast of musical styles, while remaining danceable fox trots. Clyde Doerr was a popular early bandleader, but his work here is credited to Club Royal Orchestra. "Dapper Dan" is best known today as Everett Ulysses McGill's favorite hair treatment, in The Coen Brothers' OH BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU. but here it's a peppy little dance number with an insouciant air. The flip side is a vaguely Arab-themed number, named after the popular Rudolph Valentino character, and film.
