This is one of the most unusual and rare steam locomotives in North America. The 30" guage, Shay locomotive was built by a former PRR Conductor named Bruce Groninger in the 1970's. The boiler is a 1940 Fitzgibbons stationary boiler and it is powered by a Soule 2-cylinder steam engine (which originally was used to power a sawmill log carriage back and forth). Wheels come from a handcar and the drive train is from various automotive parts.

The smaller steam locomotive is Crown metal #1, 15" guage, built in 1958. It is a coal fired, 4-4-0. Both locomotives are part of the collection of the Rough and Tumble museum in Kinzers, Pennsylvania. This was a special event with steam tractors and a sawmill demonstartion. The group steam tractor whistle blow happens at 12:00. Filmed May, 2023. More infomation can be found here https://roughandtumble.org
