Learning How to Cook in an African Village

We are always on the look out for authentic experience everywhere we travel to so when we got the opportunity to go meet, cook and share a meal with a local Rwanda Family in Lake Kivu, we jumped on the occasion.

Christine is a mother of two boys living in a small african village not minutes away from the beautiful Lake Kivu in Rwanda. She was kind enough to open her house to us and teach us how to cook a typical Rwandan meal. On the menu today, Samboza fish from Lake Kivu in a delicious tomato sauce accompanied by potatos, plantin, beans and ugali.

Even though there was a language barrier between the family and us, we had a fantastic experience as all humans can connect with a few gestures and a smile.
