In this video Dr.Isacc Abbas has explained about first aid for snake bite. He has also explained about the science behind that. If someone is bitten by a snake,don’t try to to suck that venom out, using ur mouth. It is not possible. Firstly wash that wound with water and wrap a cloth around that wound. Then take a piece of wood or stick and wrap that with the limb, restricting the movement. Wrapping should be done in a gentle manner. Then, without moving the limb much,get that person to the hospital. The science behind this is, after the snake bite, venom cannot enter the blood stream directly from wound, because it has large molecules in it. So the venom will enter into our lymphatic vessels. In simple words,lymphatic vessels are the tiny vessels which carry recycled cell waste to the blood. So the venom that’s mixed in the lymphatic vessels gradually reach subclavian artery diffusing into the blood. But if there are any limb movements,this transportation will be very fast making the venom mix with blood quicker. That is why, when a person is bitten by a snake,we should not let that person move his limb.Some people tie a tourniquet at the bitten area. The moment the doctor removes that torniquet to start treatment,the blocked circulation will quickly gush,making the venom quickly reach the blood from lymphatic vessel. This might even lead to death.
