Throughout each summer, the Kailua Racquet Club Men's Night Doubles attracts the highest levels of player locally in the state of Hawaii as well as sometimes players from other states or even countries. Playing styles are abound in this event from regular serve & volleyers to the modern baseline bashers. You also have your smooth looking players & your gritty grinders. All vying for the Night Doubles crown!

In 2018, youth would might experience as young charging Felix Albert & Marcel Chan earned the top seed in the tournament to start the tournament! Felix & Marcel, two freshly graduated players from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, were hungry for a Night Doubles title. The former Warriors occupied the top 3 spots in the rankings on their school team towards the tail end of their collegiate careers & were looking to make names for themselves in the most famous event on this side of the Mississippi. On the other side of the court stood two veterans of this level of competition: Hendrik Bode & Jordi Vives. Hendrik, head coach of the Hawaii Pacific University Sharks Men's Tennis team, already had two Kailua Night Doubles titles under his belt so you could definitely believe that this stage would not phase him. His booming serve & smooth play on court would be accompanied by his assistant coach Jordi Vives. New to the Night Doubles scene, Jordi earned the eyes of many fans by his effortless play on court. At times, he didn't even look like he broke a sweat as he hit winner after winner each set he was out there that year.

Who would come out victorious this year? Youth or experience? All players have played at the ITA & lower ATP level before so this would be a fascinating contest to watch.
