A few weeks ago, we brought to you the first semi final of this event, the Kailua Mixed Night Doubles. Today, we bring you highlights of the 2nd Semi Final round match! If you missed the first video, Hendrik Bode & Alyssia Fossorier had fought there way through the draw & just edged there way past semi final opponents Yann Renault & Nicole Hoynaski. With Hendrik's experience & Alyssia's youth, they proved to be a tough team to beat going into the championship round of the mixed doubles division that year.

In the other semi final match stood a few familiar faces in the Hawaii Tennis scene. First was 5th seeded Rong Ma & Roxanne Resma. Rong had recently become the assistant coach for the University of Hawaii Women's Tennis team & was also coming off of a strong performance in the Men's Night Doubles series in the summer of 2017. Roxy had come off of a strong season during her sophomore year as a player for the Rainbow Wahine, establishing herself as a solid member of the UH Manoa team. On the other side of the net stood a team respecting the Buff N Blue nation! That team was Thomas Shubert & Katreina Corpuz. Thomas Shubert serves as an Assistant Coach of the Punahou High School Boys Varsity Tennis team. He has vast playing experience from the juniors, college, & even the pro circuit so you knew anytime this guy got the ball, it was gonna have purpose & most likely be peppered! His partner, Katreina Corpuz, was entering her senior year as a member of the Punahou Girls Varsity Tennis team. She had already verbally committed to the Naval Academy at the time of this match (which she still plays for today), but she was determined to make a statement with her racquet a few more times before leaving for college.
You can already guess that this was a fascinating match to watch. It was basically University of Hawaii vs. Punahou on the court!
