Massage Chair | INVENTORS | PBS Digital Studios

Описание к видео Massage Chair | INVENTORS | PBS Digital Studios

Until the 1980s, professional massage was done either lying on a table or sitting on a chair or stool. David Palmer found this traditional method of seated massage problematic as his customer's would get so relaxed they'd fall over. So he developed a new kind of massage chair. Over the years it evolved from a heavy wooden "chair in a box" to a lighter model we see everywhere today.

'Inventors' is a series of portrait videos by filmmaker and photographer David Friedman, chronicling the work of contemporary inventors from all walks of life. It offers rare glimpses into the inspiration for their creations, which range from the first digital camera and first video game console to a drive-able amphibious ice-fishing vehicle.
