Expel pellet first, then eat; Australian magpies get a couple of bales

He's not keen to start eating until he expels a pellet, and he really fires it off!
I've noticed with other magpies that they look like they're off their food until they get rid of a pellet. After that he's back to normal gobbling whatever he finds. She joins him, there is some back and forth and they get a second bale.

He starts working the pellet out at 2:38. He checks out the camera at 4:05 - really cute.

When he wanders off he comes towards where I'm working so I caught him on my phone. I checked to see if she was still under the bale because I would have turned another over if she was done. Moments later she left and came and joined us. The tillage radish are growing nicely (despite some bug issues).

Then it's time for the second bale. They have a good much before they head off for some territorial defense.
