In this video we model a single-physic problem in the Solid Mechanics interface of COMSOL Multiphysics software. We study the static deflection of an Aluminum beam under a constant load. We model the structure as a cantilever beam based on linear elastic material model, and we use the 2D space due to the symmetry of the structure. After solving the problem, we explore the mechanical stress developed through the structure and the final deformed shape of the beam under the applied load. This video is a good starting point for understanding how to perform static analysis of solid structures in the software.
