Trip Report ✈️ Transatlantic on Aer Lingus? || Aer Lingus UK || Airbus A330-302 (G-EIDY) || MAN-JFK

Hello everyone and welcome to another trip report!

Today I'm flying transatlantic for the first time in 10 years. So, what's it like flying transatlantic on Aer Lingus? It's not too bad.

Manchester Airport gave us fast track for flight connection which was good. At some areas in the airport there was no Wi-Fi which was not good. It's pretty strange how Manchester Airport only provided its passengers with gate information only less than an hour prior to the flight. Anyways, we boarded a bit late and took off a bit late. I knew either way that we'd most likely make up most of the time being delayed during the flight and I was right. 👍

After take-off, around 35-40 minutes into the flight we were provided with a drink of our choice and some pretzels. Later on, we had lunch. Lunch was pretty bad. The rice was crazy dry and had zero flavour and the chicken was average. I was inteugued by the water in a container lol. 😂 There was a pre-landing snack which I forgot to mention in the video, which consisted of a nice looking box which featured a chicken caeser wrap, a granola bar and something else which I forgot. 😅

Then it was time for landing. Landing was good and during the taxi you can see lots of aircraft taxiing and taking-off at JFK which was awesome. I managed to capture a Boeing 747 taking-off! 😁

Upon arrival at JFK, we went through immigration, border control, whatever its called and it took AGES. Literally nearly an hour. 😒 American security is very tight after the tragic events of 9/11, so I guess it makes sense. They ask you for your fingerprints, picture of your face, where you're staying at in the USA, purpose of travel, taking passport, etc. whereas in Dublin they just get your passport and off you go which is great.
