TRIP REPORT | Oman Air: A Sincere Surprise | Dubai to Mumbai (via Muscat) | OMAN AIR B737 MAX

Oman Air Trip Report flying from Dubai to Mumbai (via their hub in Muscat) onboard two Oman Air Boeing 737MAX on a lovely day over the Arabic Sea.

A comfortable trip with Oman Air from Dubai to Mumbai (via Muscat). I didn't know exactly what to expect and maybe that's why Oman Air surprised me so much: the flights were amazing. The crew was extremely polite, the catering was great, Muscat airport is on the absolute top... everything was great except the status of the plane's windows: extremely dirty. Maybe the dirtiest one I've ever seen.

After a great planespotting session at Dubai Terminal 1, we boarded the B737MAX that would take us to Muscat. We took off towards the sea and surrounded Dubai downtown: the views were amazing! I can't imagine how they would have been with a clean window... We had an amazing sunrise during the cruise and landed in Muscat already with daylight after an amazing approach over the port and city.

The transit at Muscat airport, even though there were queues for all the arriving flights together, was pretty easy and fast. I didn't have enough time to visit it properly, but I can say Muscat Airport is at the absolute top, in the same league as Doha, Singapore, or Istanbul.

My (bad) surprise was when I arrived at the gate to board the plane to Mumbai and I realized that it was the same plane that took me from Dubai to Muscat... This time we were seated behind the wing and the dirt was better. Still there, but better. What a shame... Oman Air looks like an amazing airline... but these windows... come on!!!!

We took off on time from Muscat and quickly made a 180° turn to start our flight to Mumbai. The flight was basically a straight line across the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. After a nice approach, we landed on time in Mumbai, finishing this way a trip that could have been more than amazing and finished just being great.

About the catering service, on the first flight, a 35-minute one, they gave us a big piece of cake/bread with some crisps and a bottle of water. On the flight to Mumbai, it was an almost-full meal service. Very tasty food with a very polite crew.
