My friends ‪@KMKanDrum‬ and ‪@RichRawDawgdrums‬ did it again, and this time, they brought us #80scoversweek24 , which of course is exactly what we adore over here on the the dark side. For this special occasion, Lord Vader broke out his unique sparkling green Simmons kit again in order to perform a cover of the HALL & OATES classic OUT OF TOUCH, taken off their 12th studio album BIG BAM BOOM released back in 1984. With its originally programmed drum track and a beautiful blend of analog and digital synthesizers, topped off with a clean electric guitar fattened with tons of delay and the iconic vocal performances by singers and songwriters Daryl Hall and John Oates, this song is a true gem of the mid-80's. It reached number 1 in the U.S. as well as the Top 20 in several European countries, it's been covered by The Boss himself, Mr. Bruce Springsteen, and it's featured on the iconic soundtrack of the video game GTA - VICE CITY, which I'm still enjoying today, more than 20 years after its original release.
