Somebody should start a beef hot pot in Singapore - that's what we thought when we were in Chao Zhou enjoying their very famous Beef Hot Pot last year. And someone actually did it - Chaoniu Beef Hot Pot at 195 East Coast Road.

Chef Owner Ah Le is one passionate guy! He must have tried a ton of meat before settling on the best source for the different cuts of meat that's to be enjoyed in a Chaoshan beef hot pot. He even makes his own beef balls by beating slabs of lean meat into mince - over 5,000 times apparently!

This is one hot pot experience that is a little different from your usual where you get to appreciate the different cuts of meat - course by course, starting with the lean of course then the fattier cuts, special cuts and finishing off with their special noodles that's got a beautiful bite.

For first timers, suggest you go for one of their sets so you can work out your favourite cuts and hone in on those on subsequent visits!
