Healthy Recipe: Healthier Snickers Salad | Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center

Описание к видео Healthy Recipe: Healthier Snickers Salad | Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center

If you've seen a Snickers salad before, you know that it isn't really a "salad." It typically includes pudding, chopped up Snickers bars and apples for added crunch. In Laura's recipe, she is doing a healthier take with more nutritional ingredients and less sugar than the traditional recipe. The Greek yogurt is a good source of protein. The apple peel has fiber, vitamin C and antioxidants. The peanuts, honey and dark chocolate give you the candy bar feel without all the calories.

Ingredients:
4 oz. lowfat cream cheese, softened
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup honey
5 medium apples, chopped (Laura used Pink Lady apples, but you can use whatever type of apple you'd like)
1/4 cup peanuts, chopped
1/4 cup dark chocolate, chopped or use mini chocolate chips

Directions:
1. Mix together the cream cheese, yogurt and honey in a large bowl.
2. Fold in the apples, chopped peanuts and chocolate.
3. Top with additional peanuts to serve.

The mixture will stay in the fridge for two to three days and is a fun recipe to bring to a party or to keep at home as a snack or healthier dessert. We hope that you give it a try!
