Painless laser treatment of gum inflammation (Gingivitis)

This video shows the painless treatment of gingivitis. For this dental treatment we will combined two laser wavelengths:

1. The Er (Erbium): YAG (Yttrium-Aluminium-Granat) laser having a wavelength of 2940 nm and
2. Nd (Neodymium): YAG (Yttrium-Aluminium-Granat) laser having a wavelength of 1064 nm.

This very painful inflammation of the gingiva (gum =) can arise suddenly, even dental care and the dental condition is excellent. We name this periodontal disease: gingivitis.

This painless teeth cleaning is done with the Erbium laser, the antibacterial dental treatment is make with the neodymium laser. Both elements can be found in the periodic table of the lanthanides (rare earth). Jaconot Deumer, dentistry student, illustrated the laser dental treatment for you on the blackboard.

We don´t need any antibiotics to get rid of the inflammation.
