রামায়ণ ইতিহাস নাকি কল্পনা? I Ramayana: History or Myth

আজকের পর্ব রামায়ণ নিয়ে। রামায়ণ শুধু হিন্দুদের ধর্মগ্রন্থ নয়, তা ভারতীয় সংস্কৃত সাহিত্যের এক মহাকাব্য। যে গল্প হাজার হাজার ধরে বেঁচে আছে মানুষের মনে। রাম, লক্ষ্মণ, সীতা, দশরথ, হনুমান, রাবণ, বিভীষণের মতো চরিত্ররা জায়গা করে নিয়েছে আমাদের শ্রদ্ধায়, সমালোচনায়, প্রবাদ-প্রবচনে। কিন্তু এই রাম-লক্ষ্মণ ইত্যাদি রামায়ণের চরিত্ররা কি বাস্তব? তারা কি ইতিহাসসম্মত? নাকি পুরোটাই কবির কল্পনা? রামায়ণ ঐতিহাসিক হলে ভারতের ইতিহাসে কোথায় আমরা খুঁজে পাবো শ্রীরাম ও বাল্মীকির রামায়ণ কে? কবে বাল্মীকি লিখেছিলেন রামায়ণ? মেহেরগড় বা হরপ্পার মতো প্রাচীন ভারতীয় সভ্যতার সঙ্গে কি রামায়ণের কোনো যোগ রয়েছে? অযোধ্যা, মিথিলা, কিষ্কিন্ধ্যা, দণ্ডকারণ্য, লঙ্কা ইত্যাদি ভৌগলিক অঞ্চলগুলো বাস্তবে আছে, কিন্তু এই স্থানগুলোর ঐতিহাসিক মাহাত্ম্যের সঙ্গে রামায়ণের যোগ আছে কি? আজকের পর্ব এই প্রশ্নগুলো নিয়েই।

A story that has lived on in people's hearts for thousands of years. Characters like Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, Dasharatha, Hanuman, Ravana, and Vibhishana have found a place in our reverence, critiques, and proverbs. But are these characters from the Ramayana, such as Rama and Lakshmana, real? Are they historically accurate, or are they entirely the creation of a poet's imagination? If the Ramayana is historical, where in India's history can we find the traces of Shri Ram and Valmiki's Ramayana? When did Valmiki write the Ramayana? Is there any connection between the Ramayana and ancient Indian civilizations like Mehrgarh or Harappa? Places like Ayodhya, Mithila, Kishkindha, Dandakaranya, and Lanka exist geographically, but is there any historical significance connecting these regions to the Ramayana? Today's episode explores these questions.
