Resumen y explicación en castellano de toda la vida de Saruman el Blanco, jefe de los Istari y el Concilio Blanco, rival de Gandalf. En un principio era bueno, pero de tanto estudiar las artes de Sauron acabó sintiendo envidia de él y deseó para sí el Anillo Único. Traicionó al Concilio Blanco, se refugió en su fortaleza de Isengard y preparó un ejército, en imagen y semejanza de Barad-dûr. Pero los Ents y los Rohirrim pudieron vencerle, Saruman fue como Zarquino a la Comarca, pero los hobbits le vencieron y Gríma le mató.
