Hey everyone, it’s jimmy tran and in today’s video i’m going to show you the step by step process on how to land double heelflips.

The secret to double heelflips is that you want to use your side heel and flick hard from the 4th bolts.

If you want to learn how to apply this technique yourself then continue watching because i’m about to share with you my strategy on double heelflips. Let’s start!

Before you try double heelflips, make sure you have heelflips on lock and that you understand the mechanics of how heelflips work.

It’s also nice to have double kickflips down too, but it’s not necessary.

So this is my foot position for double heelflips.

My front foot is located in the middle of the board and my back foot is covering half the tail.

Make sure your toes are hanging off the board a bit for the double heelflips. I tend to have all 4 of my toes off the board with my pinky toe just slightly off the board.

Use your heelside and flick hard from the 4th bolts as shown in the picture here.

Flick straight out and hard from the 4th bolts and that will give it enough power for it to flip twice.


Ride at a comfortable speed.

Squat down for power.

Pop the back tail and jump up

At the same time this is all happening, drag your front foot up to the 4th bolts.

Flick straight out from the 4th bolts. Flick hard and let your front foot hang out there for a split second longer than you would for heelflips

Watch the board do 2 full flips and gravity will bring you down to catch the board. Ride away clean and you’ve just landed a double heelflip.

The 2 most important parts to this trick is you gotta drag your front on the griptape to the 4th bolts and getting a solid pop with your back foot.

Don’t forget to keep that front foot extended out there a little bit longer than you would normally do for a heelflip.

Stay in the middle of the board so you’re not flying forwards or backwards.


I think one of the most common issues is under flipping or overflipping and it can come in many different forms.

The solution to this problem is that you gotta get a good pop for this trick. Stay in the middle of the board and you gotta remember to drag your flicking foot against the griptape up to the 4th bolts and flick hard straight out.

If you make these corrections then it should solve your underflipping issues.
